The Georgia Peach

The Georgia Peach

This cat was sharp as a tack Jack with a voice that could holler, scream, shriek and moan so sweetly, with hands that laid down the solidest in the Boogie and the Woogie. The best song in the whole world is by this cat called ‘Lucille’. This song drives along like a steam locomotive engine and it won’t let up. Ahhhh….yeah this cat! With a top quality, thickly pomaded pompadour that reached so high into the sky, wearing suits to blind and shock all who behold them! Little Richard,….lawd oh lawd!

Richard Wayne Penniman was called into this world in December of 1932. The place of his birth as such ain’t important but the devil sent Little Richard to be adored in all his evilness. Little Richard took part in the progression from Rhythm’n’Blues to Rock’n’Roll, which wasn’t hard to do. Mr Penniman was evil but clever for he mixed gospel music with R&B and added the most vital ingredient of all Boogie-Woogie. The beat of Little Richard’s music was pronounced and heavy with the emphasis on the Back-Beat. Richard Penniman laid this wax down for humankind; Little Richard Boogie, Taxi Taxi, Tutti Frutti, Long Tall Sally, Rip It Up, Ready Teddy, Ooh My Soul, Baby Face, Jenny Jenny Jenny, Good Golly Miss Molly and Slippin’ and a-Slidin’.

Ain’t no cat like Little Richard gonna be sent by the devil himself again……lawdy have mercy!

O-o-o-h Ma Soul!
